Hi, I’m Emily!

I likely had goldfish and leftover pizza crust for dinner just so I could spend 15 more minutes working on my latest project—and honestly, I’ll probably do it again tomorrow.

Shortly after becoming a mom, I traded in my scrubs for breastmilk-covered sweatshirts and yoga pants. I loved being home with my daughter, but I couldn’t help but feel like I didn’t recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror. She had three different lengths of hair, her clothes never fit the way they used to, her house had been taken over by colorful kid toys, and she kept catching herself saying things her mother used to say.

While I was deep in the early days of motherhood and trying to navigate this new version of life, I was desperate for an outlet. Accepting my new “hobbies” of uninterrupted bathroom breaks and five-minute showers just wasn’t going to cut it.

Around that time, my husband and I bought a total fixer-upper—and as a stay-at-home mom, I made it my “job” to do as much of the renovating as I could myself.

And as it turns out… it was exactly what I needed.

DIY quickly became my form of self-care.

Through years of projects—some great, some questionable—I started to rediscover myself, figure out my style, and slowly turn our home into a place that actually worked for our everyday life.

In the middle of all of that, Projects & Pearls was born.

My husband and I found ourselves swimming in a sea of pink, polka dots, and pearls—but I’ve always tried to add a little more project into the mix.

What started as a creative outlet in our own home has grown into something much bigger.

Now, I take on renovation projects for other families who are in that same in-between space:

• their home isn’t working the way it should
• they have ideas, but feel overwhelmed
• they could DIY it… but realistically don’t have the time or energy

I help them make smart, practical updates that actually improve how their home functions—without it turning into an overcomplicated, overpriced renovation.

My approach is simple:

• make practical decisions first
• then make them look pretty!
